Hallie's Blessing dress & more

Hallie with Grandma Great

The babies born this year...Jeremy-8 Months, Hallie- almost 2 months, and Ty-6 months

So this is Hallie in her blessing dress. No she hasn't been blessed yet, but we had to do her photo shoot in the dress that my mom crocheted for her because we already couldn't get the buttons done up on it. I guess we waited too long to bless her plus she is just a fat baby!! So she'll wear the dress that Lyssie wore for her actually blessing, but she has this one for her keepsake. I'm pretty bummed it won't fit her for the blessing cause it is so beautiful!

Funny Girl!

We went to my house for Thanksgiving this year. Sunday night all of the cousins had gone home, so that left Lyssie to play with Grandma and Grandpa. She was in my parent's room with my dad. My dad was reading a book and Lyss was "browsing" through the channels. Well she put the remote down and told my dad that she was going to find grandma. Then she said, " And no more TV grandpa!" THen she ran out and shut the bedroom door. Well my mom was just heading back there and she asked Lyss what she was doing. Lyssie says, "I'm teasing grandpa!!" My mom just about died laughing!

The next funny thing she did that night....First of all, my mom just had a surgery on her foot and she wears this boot thing.....Ok now this will make sense! My mom had her foot up on a stool and Lyss kept being crazy by it and jumping really close to it and stuff. So I told her she had to be careful because Grandma had an ouchy on her foot. Well my mom said, in an English accent like on Monty Python and the Holy Grale, that "it's getting betta." Then Lyssie says, "YOu don't say betta grandma, you say better!" Once again we were all rolling!

Lyssie had so much fun playing with all the cousins and can't wait to go to Grandma Patty's at Christmas and play with all of those cousins!

My new do!! This was the second go around. The first time I saw this cute hair cut in a magazine and had the girl cut it that way. Well, I couldn't do it like the girl in the magazine, so it just looked like I had stepped back into the 70's. THe hair do wasn't good then and it shouldn't have come back! So I went back in and had the girl fix it. Too all of you in Walla Walla- Misbehaven Salon is great.....ask for Ashley with a baby.

I had this basket full of towels in the bathroom when I was giving Lyssie a bath. So while I scrubbed her, I put Hallie in it. She loved it!.....Mostly she just loves to hear the water running in the tub, and the blow dryer. She would probably like the vacuum too! Totally opposite of Lyssie!

The fam getting in some religion. Jake was getting ready to go home teaching and Lyss climbed up on his lap with her Friend. When I looked over I just thought it was too cute and I couldn't believe my camera was right there to capture the moment!

Lyssie helping me make biscuits.

Our new wheels! Aren't I cool!!!!

Lyssie LOVES to sing! She LOVES to make up her own songs with words that you can't understand. She has started reading books to herself and Hallie. She'll help Hallie fold her arms for prayers, then when they're done, she says, " good job Howlie!" (That's how she says Hallie.) She is such a big helper with Hallie....she loves to "do-un she's buttons", get diapers, help with Hallie's tubby and give her lots of hugs and kisses.

A Baby Story

Here is my baby story.....
I wanted so bad to go into labor on my own with this one and do it the "real" way. Well...once again I had to be induced. My body doesn't get the whole labor thing on its own. It has to have some encouragement. The day before I was supposed to be induced, Lyssie caught an awful cold. By that night she was running a fever. I was so upset that I would have to take her to someone else to be tended when she was sick. I didn't sleep hardly at all that night because Alyssa didn't sleep and she DID NOT want Jake. So the next morning bright and early...5:30...we dropped her off at our Bishop's house. (His wife was the one tending her.) Then Jake and I headed to the Hospital. They started me on pit and broke my water by 7. When they checked to see how far along I was, I was exactly what I had been a week before at my Dr. appointment. This child had no intentions of coming out any time soon! I got my epidural around that same time too. While the guy was giving me the epidural, my blood pressure dropped to like 50/30 and I felt like I was going to throw up. So they laid me down and the BP came back up. Then it was just the waiting game. I was in and out of sleep for most of the waiting...except when I felt like I was going to throw up again and they gave me some great drugs that worked like a charm. By noon they were telling me that it was almost time to push. I was so loopy and dopey! But then it was time and 3 pushes later she was out and I didn't feel any of it!!!! Why anyone would opt to not have an epidural is beyond me. I had thought for a minute that I could do it without...I'm so glad I didn't! It was so relaxed this go around. With Alyssa the epidural war off at go time, so I pushed for an hour and a half feeling all of it. So the moral of my baby story is to always get an epidural!

Hallie is such a sweet, easy going baby. But when she is mad, she is mad! She sleeps so much which is so different from Lyss. She does OK at night. I just can't wait to get into a routine. Any suggestions on how to deal with Alyssa wanting to hug and lay and squeeze on her all the live long day?

HAlLoweEN!

This is the story of poor Hallie's life! Lyssie loves this girl so much and mauls her all day long! I'm glad that she likes her though!

Jake and Lyssie at Trunk-or-treating.

Lyssie, Krista and Hallie. Hallie LOVES that packer. She slept right through her first Halloween!

Halloween girls!

Our finished Pumpkins. We were going to get our pumkins from this little country store here...they have a huge slide and caribou and stuff....but they closed too early to ever get there after Jake got off work. So we went to Albertsons....They at least had some straw bales holding the pumkins! Lyssie wasn't sure about the whole cleaning the pumkins out. But all in all she thought Halloween was great!

Hallie Kay Despain

Today our little family had its newest member join us. Hallie weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces. She was 20 inches long and had a head circumference of 13 inches. She mostly slept and ate today. Both baby and mom are doing great. Thanks for all your support and love.

"Oh ShoOt!"

Yesterday Jake was watching a football game on TV. His team (the Broncos) were playing and he was getting very into it and animated and yelling at the TV and stuff. Alyssa stopped what she was doing for a minute and watched a replay of a really hard tackle. As she watched it happen, she goes," oh shoot". Then she just sat there with this disguted look on her face for a while. It was so funny. So then there was a squirrel on our fence that you can see out the back door. I told her to go see it and then the squirrel went on its way. She says, "OH dang it. That squirrel went away." Yes. These are all things that she had just heard Jake yell at the TV. It was pretty funny though.
She is also on a big kick of taking her baby doll with us everywhere. Today she had it with her when we dropped Jake off at work. I always roll Lyssie's window down so Jake can give her a kiss and ahe can wave goodbye. She took her dolls hand and started waving it and saying "bye daddy". It was cute!
Her Halloween costume is all done...we just have to get a black turtle neck at target. She is going to be Minnie Mouse. I- with Jake's help crafted her a pair of ears with a big pink bow on them. I tried the whole thing on her last night and she wanted me to take her picture. I did, but I don't want to ruin the Halloween surprise for everyone!
We are still on the hunt for a new car. A bigger car. We know all about vans blah blah blah,....but does anyone have any other suggestions for a great smaller SUV?

1 Month and counting!!!

My due date is 1 month from today! Not that that mattered too much with Lyss who I'm sure would still have not been born had they not made her come out! (She was a week over and no sign of wanting to leave her happy home.)
Some other exciting things....we sold my car so that we can get something bigger. We won't all fit in one of our little cars for all of our long holiday traveling. Now it is just a matter of finding what we want at the price we want!!!
I am taking a New Testament class online right now. It is way more time consuming than I thought it would be. It is even harder when you really only have 2 hours a day while the child is napping to work on it and is even more difficult when the child doesn't seem to think she needs a nap even though we all know she does and that when 5 o'clock rolls around we will all be very sick of each other! But she sure is cute!!!! I must admit that Mickey Mouse has become my hero! She loves to watch it! I try not to abuse him though.
