Let's go!

The other night, after I had gotten Lyss already for bed, we were downstairs and she was just pattering around. She went over by the door and found one sandle. She brought it to Jake and had him put it on her. Then she went and got her church shoe, (suprisingly enough the other foot!) and had Jake put that one on. Then she came and grabbed my hand and took me to the door cause she wanted to go out. So we went for a walk around our house and she was satisfied! I just thought it was too cute!

Alyssa with her hair all flipped out. I did it with the curling iron. It was pretty cute, but didn't last long!

Jake got his first pay check today!!!!!!YEA!!!!

Any suggestions on how to deal with tantrums and how to get kids to eat? I am needing any advice I can get!!!

Back it Up!

I have been wanting to post this forever, but I was having trouble getting my videos to download. This isn't the best quality video, but you can get the idea. When you get Alyssa dancing, sometimes she plops down on her behind and starts scootin backwards. She will sometimes do it on command. It is so funny to watch. We call he backin it up!

The Park

Jake and Lyss making there way out of the curvy tunnel slide! Lyss seemed to like it.

It was finally cool enough today to actually go outside! It has been over 100 the past few days, so we have been staying in air conditioning. Jake was done with work early, so he came with us.

Some funny things Alyssa is doing lately:
- Picking her nose.....gross, but it always makes me laugh cause she mostly just shoves her finger up there!
- As she starts doing something she knows she shouldn't, she says "no, no, no".
- She calls everything thats starts with the letter B, a "B". I don't know how she picked up on that.
- She is getting pretty sassy! We were going to the store the other day and she insisted on wearing her church shoes. Another time, she insisted on bring this stuffed animal that she really hardly ever plays with, but found that day.
- She loves to dance and has started to stomp her little feet to do it. Anytime she hears musice, she starts waving her arms around...that's how she dances!

Jake and I just think everything she does is just the cutest.... I find myself even laughing at her tantrums. I guess I don't really think those are cute, but..... I don't know they make me laugh! We love her to death!

Happy Anniversary Honey!

Tomorrow is Me and Jake's 2 year anniversary. I can't believe how fast the time flew! Here is a re-cap on our love story:

Jake and I met almost 3 years ago in Portland. He was attending Optometry school and I was working as a nanny. We were in the same singles ward. One night one of the other girls in the singles ward and a fellow Optometry student threw a party and Jake and I were both there. He was layin the flirt on pretty thick. I of course was just playing it up cause I had a boyfriend on a mission. Well, from that night I began thinking of ways that I could see him again. So I would borrow movies from him. Good idea huh! That way I had to see him at least twice, once to get the movie and once to return it. Jake kissed me first, although he insists I did- why would I, I had a boyfriend.....! He took me home for spring break March of '06, then come May he asked me to marry him. We were married in the Idaho Falls temple on August 12.

So happy anniversary honey! And so many happy ones ahead! I love you!

The Costco War Zone......and a cookie reward!

So you're all wondering about the Costco War Zone.....
Today Jake went and did baptisms for the dead. So Lyss and I met him up there and we went and saw Aaron Cutler, who lives in Kennewick now, yea!, and then we went to Costco for lunch and to pick up a few items. We were sitting at one of the tables eating lunch and Lyss was sitting on the bench by me. Some kids came and sat at a table nearby, so she was turning trying to look at them. The next thing I know, she is on the concrete floor on her back. I grabbed her up as fast as I could. I felt so awful! I was shaking and almost in tears my self. I felt like such a bad mom! But as you can see she has a nice purple know on her head and some red marks by her eye. She fought the floor and the floor won!

Yesterday I got the idea in my head that I wanted to make sugar cookies with Alyssa. I didn't have any cookie cutters though. Jake was just leaving Shopko, so I had him look for some and he couldn't find any. So when he got home, I went to Walmart and found a box of 101! They are so fun! They have all the letters and numbers and a whole bunch of fun holiday shapes and sports, all different sizes too! They are going to be so fun!

Alyssa and I cutting the Sugar Cookies out. She really liked this, even watching!

She really loved playing in the flour when we had finished cutting out!

She licked all the frosting off her "A" cookie and was trying to get the other cookies frosting too. She did finally eat her cookie.

The finished product! I usually hate doing sugar cookies cause all the recipes I've ever seen make like 2 dozen and I hate frosting that many. (I know I could like half the recipe or something, but that's alot of work too!!)So I found a recipe in my Cooking for To cookbook and it is just the right amount!

What a Cute Girl!

Alyssa has just been doing the cutest things lately. We have finally got her to fold her arms for prayers, the whole way through. Also, I help her say her prayers evernight. Well, now she wants to say them for naps too! I'll lay her in her bed and she'll fold her arms and jabber something that sounds like "prayer." So we say prayers and she turns over and goes to sleep.

When she walks around, she always swings her left arm like she's a girl on a mission. It's so fun to watch her! She reorganizes my kitchen and bathroom drawers daily. And she is starting to try and run, which is absolutely hilarious to watch! Kids are so fun!
