An Update

Things have been very busy here in the real world for our little family. What has changed?:
1- Jake is on his 3 calling since we have been here, he is now the executive secretary. I thought this would be kinda a cushy one, but I'm not sure I like him gone allllll day Sunday with meetings. I suppose I'll get used to it!
2- I have started working towards getting my degree online through BYU-I. So far I am loving it! I am only doing orientation right now but it is fun to think that I am on my way to something big!
3- Alyssa opens doors now. She always wants to play outside and tries to escape every now and then, but I think she is too much of a mamas girl to go too far away from me. She seems to be going through some kind of seperation anxiety. She won't go to nursery without me, for 4 nights she would wake up every 2 hours and want to be in bed by me, and yesterday she wanted to play outside with the nieghbor kids, but flipped out when she realized I wasn't out there. ( There was another adult out there.) She is sleeping better now though!
4- Jake is going to Greenbay this weekend for a Shopko Optometry meeting. My friend April is going to come and hang out with me.
5- My parents came back last weekend to go to a fuuneral up in Othello. While they were here for this quick trip my mom helped me make curtains for Lyssie's room. Pictures will be coming soon, but she is asleep in there right now!
6- Oh yea! And we're expecting a baby around the 17th of October!

Things will never slow down!

Easter

Lyss didn't care too much about the Egg hunt at first, but wanted to go swing. So when we were done hunting candy, we went and let her swing.

She was more interested in just eating the chocolate eggs as she found them.

Lyssie in her beautiful Easter dress

She wanted to hold all the freshly dyed eggs

Dying Easter eggs. Lyss thought it was fun, but wasn't very gentle about it. Somehow we only had one crack.

When we first got to the Egg hunt, Lyssie was cranky and stubborn about taking pics

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

This last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa Despain came to visit us. We had alot of fun and Lyssie asks where they are every morning. A few things we did: Drove around and looked at Walla Walla and all the old houses, went to the Easter Egg hunt, went to the Aviary, went to dinner at Hongs in Milton Freewater, (for those of you who live here in the Wall, it was really good chinese food.), and ate Easter dinner.

Lyss and Gramma at the Aviary

Lyss helping push Granpa. She wanted nothing to do with riding on his lap, but was all about pushing him around!

Blowing bubbles. I thought her face looked funny trying to blow the bubbles.

G & G at the Easter egg hunt

Lyssie and her bink...any suggestions on how to get rid of the binks???

Lyssie being cute and cheesey!

Thanks for making the LONG trip and coming to see and sharing a great Easter with us. We love you!

This last week, my mom, dad, sister and her little girl came up for a visit. It was so fun to have them here, even though we didn't do much....do to the lack of things to do in this town. Plus it rained like the whole week. We did go to the Whitman Mission historical sight, and to Tri-Cities for an afternoon. We watched alot of TV and ate alot of good food! Alyssa had sooooo much fun playing with Britta. They would just disappear for a while, usually upstairs jumping on the air bed or taking themselves potty or helping each other get drinks in the bathroom. One night, Britta came downstairs needing help with the button in her pants. So I asked her where Lyssie was. She kinda looks at Sherida with this smug look on her face, so I asked her again and she did the same thing. Then I hear Lyss coming down the stairs and running into the living room with no diaper and a huge grin. They played so well together....even when Lyss would antagonize Britta by telling her that the water bottle was hers or stealing her speacial bear or blanket. It was alot of fun!
